Dirigosoft Announces Corporate Name Change to Dirigo Telecommunications, Inc.
Company Offers Integrated Voice and Communications Systems for Small- to Medium-Sized Businesses
PORTLAND, Maine — Jan. 17, 2007 — Dirigosoft Corporation, a provider of world-class business communications solutions, today announced it has changed its name to Dirigo Telecommunications, Inc. The company’s product platform spans the continuum from simple telephone systems to robust, integrated voice and data communications that can be scaled to serve growing small- to medium-sized businesses.
“The new name better reflects our mission to provide small and medium businesses with customer contact offerings that are intelligent and adaptable — without being cost prohibitive,” said Bill Hunt, president and COO of Dirigo Telecommunications. “Our main objective is to position our end users for growth and success from the outset. We do that by providing products to resellers that offer the functionality necessary to grow with their clients’ businesses – an option that was previously unavailable to this market.”
Aside from Dirigo, IP-PBX providers typically align in two categories, both of which have limitations. The first is a group of traditional PBX vendors that have replicated the limited PBX feature set in Internet protocol (IP). Though economical, the product does not scale to include the integration of office phones, effective communications management and a robust customer interaction environment. The second is a group of high-end providers that offer enterprise-wide telecommunications for large corporations. These providers are unable to scale down their services to offer IP solutions that are both comprehensive and cost effective for small and medium-sized businesses.
Dirigo’s IP-PBX solution is the iQueue™ platform, introduced to the market in October 2006. iQueue can leverage both traditional digital technology and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP). The product, which won a “Best of Show” award at the Internet Telephony Conference and Expo West 2006, also features an “Intelligent Assistant” capability that allows an unprecedented amount of control over all aspects of every call handled by the system.
“Dirigo offers a competitively priced IP-PBX with Intelligent Assistant capabilities, dynamic conferencing and management information that is not otherwise available in the market,” said Ed Gleason, president of Central Maine Communications, a Dirigo Telecommunications reseller. “iQueue is a unique solution for my customers who seek a low cost of ownership with the added ability to include enterprise-class features of automated call distribution.” Dirigo also provides resellers with a built-in Quality of Service (QoS) management system and virtual private networking (VPN), allowing for easy, remote support capability.
